Thanks for checking this out. I've been using the Life-flo for quite some time and prefer its texture as well. Some people use the magnesium oil but that is too oily for my taste.

Sure! It's funny...I had a leg cramp last night. The first night I used AM. I haven't had any leg cramps since using LF. Could just be coincidence. Or could be the lower dose? And perhaps less absorption since it remains sticky for so long?

Thanks Joanne,
That is really great to know that 330mg is the magic number associated with LF....That is the only product I use both the oil and lotion. I use the oil on my legs and arms and wipe off after 30 minutes and then I put some lotion on the bottom of the feet and a little on the legs so they don't dry out.

Since starting Re-Mag I don't ingest nearly as much Magnesium as I used to ....I now apply more and only take 2 Drs Best Magnesium in the morning and sip water/Re-mag throughout the day.

Now that my histamine is more under control and I feel the magnesium is absorbing better than landing in the large intestine I am almost to Normanville

I am probably getting close to my 700mg number every day and I can tell the difference when I do.

I've been taking the Drs best 200 mg 3 times a day. I need to use more of the lotion. I am having panic attacks and wake up in the middle of the night in a panic. I have only Ancient minerals spray and lotion. I ordered LF but not sure how to use this or the ancient minerals until I get the LF. Also how to cut down on Drs. best while on the lotions?

HI Janie,
Since it appears the Ancient oil doesn't have the impact as LF will once you get it. I would apply the Ancient lotion or oil as often as you can during the day, and if you have Epsom Salts I'd put 2 cups in a nice soaking tub and soak in it for a good 20 minutes or so, that is another way to absorb magnesium too.

It sounds as if you are quite low in magnesium, and don't forget to take a good dose of safe VitD3 too to the tune of at least 5000-7000mg a day to help the magnesium absorb properly.

Your body will only absorb as much as it wants to at any given time you apply or ingest it during the day. Keep at it and eventually the anxiety and panic attacks will subside, I promise.

Cheers
Erica

Sure....you never know which type is absorbing best, one way to know is if you have diarrhea then I'd say too much mag is leaving the intestines, so would be best to stick with the topical. If you don't have any D then ingesting some is ok. If you are going to go the skin route and applying often during the day then you may not need much internal. Your body will let you know when enough is enough.

BTW, panic attacks can be triggered by B vitamin deficiencies. Have you had your B vitamin levels checked?

Janie,
I had genetic tests done by 23andme several years ago. I downloaded that info to Genetic Genie and a few other sites to check for methylation issues. I found that I don't process B vitamins normally and take both active and inactive B12. Ask your doctor to check your vitamin levels. That way you will know exactly what may or may not need supplementation.

Janie,

Please be aware that the Doctor's Best Chelated Magnesium 200 mg. actually contains only 100 mg per tablet. If you look at the back label you will see that 200 mg is the "recommended dose" and the "recommended dose" is 2 tablets.

Therefore unless you are taking 2 tablets 3 times each day (for a total of 6 tablets), you are only getting 300 mg of magnesium each day from the Doctor's Best supplement. This is a very common mistake when taking magnesium supplements.

Regarding B vitamins, as Sheila pointed out, B-12 is by far the most important. A few of us are also low on B-9 and B-6 but those can usually wait a while and they may be corrected once your digestion improves.

Thanks Tex and Sheila,
Corrected that 2 tab Magnesium for 200mg, about a month ago. Gabes told me about that.
I will ask for B12 test when I get to the Doc's. Should it be the Methymalonic Acid Blood test or Vit B12 and folate?

All I've ever had are the regular B-12 serum tests, but the MMA test is certainly better. If you do the MMA test it would be a good idea to do a homocysteine test along with it because B-12 deficiency is often accompanied with an elevated homecysteine level.

Janie...I am a complete newbie so not at all qualified to answer but just wanted to make sure you are applying the mag lotion or spray at night before bed to give your body a good dose to get you through the night.
