matula tea for h pylori

Post by goody321 »

Hi all,

I've posted before about h pylori. I am refusing to take the antibiotic because I am finally feeling a little better learning how to deal with my MC. I have been reading a lot about natural ways to get rid of h pylori and came across mastic gum and matula tea. Since we have a little more sensitive digestive systems than "normal people" I was wondering if anybody has actually tried either of these for eradication of h pylori (mastic gum or matula tea) and if so, are they a no no for someone with mc

Thanks!

It's beginning to appear that no one here (at least no one who has read this post so far) has tried either mastic gum or matula tea.

As far as I'm aware though, there is no apparent reason why either of them would be contraindicated for MC patients.

I hope that this is helpful.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi I have had h pylori two years ago and recently got reinfected. I heard frmo a friend it wiped out her h pylori with mastic gum more precisely gastromend and other natural antibiotics and confirmed with a breath test.

However she still had gastritis after that and still dealing with it i believe so I think those herbs might work for some but it might also leave some in there. Natural treatments seem to reduce its number which is good enough for most but for me this bug is deadly and i am now undergoing treatment....its not the antibiotics you should fear. Its the damn PPIs....they can srsly screw you up so try to be on the most effective short course while on them to wipe out the bacteria if you decide to go that route, I
can send you the treatment regimen she tried if you decide to go the natural route.

I am thinking of trying mastic gum on top of abx but it could be too much for me now.

I did try mastic gum and matula honey when I was diagnosed with h-pylori 3 years ago. Heck I even started growing broccoli sprouts and eating loads of them every day because I read that it could help.

In the end the natural remedies didn't work for me and I had to use the antibiotic triple therapy.

Everyone is different and I don't know if I just had a particularly difficult case.

The main concern here is the increased risk of stomach cancer and lymphoma with h-pylori. Whatever treatment you try, please get retested to ensure that the infection is in fact under control.

Wanted to add that I was only on a PPI for two weeks during treatment. I switched to zantac as soon as the triple therapy ended.
