Zinc and Eyes

Post by Alohagirl »

Anyone else experience sensations / mild, brief twinges of discomfort in your eyes when taking zinc supplements? In general, in the 2nd week I was just more aware of sensations in my eyes off and on throughout the day which I have never felt before. I have tried Integrative Therapeutics and Doctor's Best zinc carnosine. I had only been taking 5 to 8 mg as I divided up the capsules into other capsules & I took it for about 2 weeks with dinner. I stopped it one week ago. I noticed eye symptoms again last night after eating lamb for dinner to the point that I took out my contacts. I eat lamb and turkey daily and see that they can be high in zinc. I did not start any other supplements recently. Any feedback is appreciated.

That was something I'm not familiar with so I did a search and found this:

Zinc: Yes Or No For Eyes?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
