Night sweats and deep breath

Post by Janie »

Every night I wake up in a hormone heat. I know I've read this so if someone has a link or can respond.
Is this ok or a problem. I am not pregnant and past menopause.
Also Tex, still have trouble with a deep breath. Can be panicky. Anyone else have that issue too.
I also feel hot after I eat for awhile. Is this normal too? :mallet:

Janie,

Have you ever read the post by me at the link below? It was written a few months before you joined, and the symptoms I described appear to be mighty similar to yours.

Avoiding A Magnesium Deficiency Is Easier Said Than Done

My temperature may have gone up after eating, but in general my temp was so erratic, especially during the night, that I never even noticed if it changed after eating.

When I was magnesium deficient, I would become overheated very easily from any physical effort. I would barely get started trimming tree limbs or some other job that required only moderate effort and I would quickly become hot and short of breath so that I would have to stop and rest for a while to cool off and catch my breath. Now that the magnesium deficiency is gone that doesn't happen. My endurance is much, much better.

Thanks Tex,
It is still hard to figure out how much to use of the glycinate, oil, lotion and foot soaks to use. I have ancient minerals spray, Life flo lotion and Drs. best glycinate. Any suggestions again would be appreciated. I am 65 so would like to know. I had cramps in my leg last night too. Got up and put on oil spray.

it can take at least 8 weeks of high dose magnesium to correct deficiency. For some, it can take a bit longer

how long have you been taking the Drs Best and using the lotions/oils etc?

one thing that can happen when we start taking lots of magnesium, the body will start detoxing (as magnesium is part of the process of clearing toxic metals) that is one of the reasons why you can feel worse before you feel better when you start magnesium.

The panicky feeling can be related to many other things, iodine deficiency, B12 deficiency, zinc/copper imbalance

my suggestion for now is to implement or increase relaxation activities, meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, walking, colouring in etc, as you adjust to all the recent changes you have made and give the body time to adjust a bit.

Everyone here is wonderful and are my life line. I am just stumped on the magnesium thing though, and want to keep my kidneys too. Read and reread the post you had and still stumped. If I am taking 500 mag in pills and still have cramps and sweats, how much oil or lotion? And foot soaks. I am fairly new to this and it gets me down. Another side effect of mag depletion

the depression can also be Vit D3 deficiency...

as per the discussion in Vanessa's ReMag post, you may not be absorbing all the 500mg that you taking in tablets. and as I mentioned above it can take 8 weeks of high dose magnesium to correct a mild deficiency, if it is a bad deficiency it will take longer.

dont overthink it, and there is no quick fix for some of these issues, time is our friend.
be patient, and a good motto is, progress not perfection. so long as this week is a bit better than the one before be happy about that..

HI Janie,

I'm closer to 49 yrs now and did the menopause thing 2 years ago (my DNA is an early recipient of that) and I still get monthly virtual hormone cycles as far as I'm concerned they produce nothing but hot air and annoyance, lol. The heat you speak of I get from time to time more-so when my estrogen is trying to elevate a bit. It is usually a clue that I need even more magnesium during that time (I try to apply and ingest around 700mg daily spread out thru the day). A couple nights ago I noticed my feet were feeling a bit crampy so I rubbed some mag lotion all over both of them, that took care of my cramps. I use LifeFlo oil and lotion - lotion teaspoon is 330mg correct me anybody if I am confused with tablespoon, (learned from a different thread that Ancient oil may not be giving enough elemental mag per teaspoon as LifeFlo) and I just started the Re-Mag liquid in water that I sip on throughout the day and I've gotten to 1/2 teaspoon of that. That liquid magnesium is working pretty great so far, I don't take near the amount of Dr Best tablets like I used to. Do foot soaks as needed or when ever you just want to relax even more.

If you can't take a deep breath or are still feeling panicky you are not absorbing enough of the Magnesium...how much VitD3 are you taking a day? If you try 5000-7000 VitD3 and 700mg Mag daily (even if this mag needs to be external to get the most absorption) you should see a big difference in a week or two easily. If you are taking medications this will deplete some of the mag and VitD so be intuitive if what I suggested needs to be increased a bit more to offset this scenario.

Don't be afraid of the VitD3 and Mag you will know when you body has gotten to a point that you can taper back on both of them (usually you start feeling much better, you start to show promise in stool pattern and if you get to much Magnesium it will gravitate you back to water D) - I didn't think I'd know but I'm figuring it out. Even if you have to have a VitD Hydroxy test to know exactly where your vitD sits that would be ideal, that would help you know 1/2 of the equation to getting on track to healing.

Remind yourself you are doing the best you can...you can do this
cheers

I also take Cardizem calcium channel blocker too.
medications like that 'rob' magnesium.

every body is different, each person has individual situations that cause many variables, that is why there is no fixed formula that works for everyone, each person has to listen to their bodies, be patient, and figure out what works best for them...

eg: due to having mainly C issues, and long periods of stress, I was taking over 1000mg of magnesium for over 6 months to correct my deficiency.
where as some here, 600mg for a couple of months was enough.

I spray the tops of my legs, stomach each time i go to the toilet.
I spray my whole body when i get up (and after a coffee, i then shower ready for work)
spray neck, shoulders when i am at the computer
spray whole body before bed.

I use the LifeFlo Mag oil spray and LifeFlo Mag lotion. I use both intermingling on the body where ever it feels ok. There are times the mag oil leaves me too dry, or it stings in certain places so I will stick to my legs and forearms exclusively. It will absorb so don't worry about repeating it in the same place  It helps to put it directly on places that seem to need it on a certain spot like a cramp.

I can vouch for Tex and Gabes being great cheer leaders  There is plethora of wonderful advice given by many on this site.
Cheers
