MC friendly colonoscopy prep diet
Hi all
Does anyone have a list of MC friendly elimination diet stage 1...yes, I am still there...colonoscopy prep stuff to eat the day before the fun starts? The only things I can think of are bone broth, tea and apple juice.
Thanks a bunch!

Gatorade...uh oh
I am just reading that I have to mix the Miralax into Gatorade. And that Gatorade contains brominated vegetable oil made from soy along with other unsavory ingredients. What can I substitute for Gatorade? Coconut water perhaps?

Joanne,
I once lived on chicken broth, jello, water, sprite, and 7-Up for 2 weeks between tests so that I wouldn't have to go through the cleanout process again. Unfortunately the GI doc's sergeant-at-arms (aka nurse) insisted that I drink the swamp water anyway (a gallon of Golytely). I managed to get a little over half of it down before I became too nauseated to drink any more. I was as clean as a whistle inside though.
I can't recommend that diet though, because I lost over 20 pounds during those 2 weeks and I was pretty much down to hide and bones when the time came for the exam.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Good luck to you! I get a fever every time I go through the "clean out" process. Every time the nurse checks with the dr to see if they can still go through with it. I tell them in a shivering voice, oh yes he is....
