I went straight to one cork full (a little more than a teaspoon) in a glass of water and took it all in 4-5 sips, and had no bad reactions. In fact I experienced a lot of energy and that warm feeling inside me, like I used to have some 6-10 years ago.

It's been about a week for me on the ReMag, and I'm really liking it! Laura, I appreciate your apprehension about trying something new, and felt the same way. I'm happy to report I've had no ill effects at all! My dosage right now is 1/4 tsp in 20 oz water with a little sea salt, and I drink about 2 1/2 of those a day, so have gone from 1/8 tsp to a little over 1/2 tsp daily in one week. The advice given to me here was to try to keep magnesium continually going into the body throughout the day as my deficiency is severe and chronic (probably been deficient for the past 15-20 years).
Lilja, I can feel the results of it being absorbed into my tissues, also, and it is a good feeling!
Tonight, I find myself woken up by terrible foot cramps, and that's something I haven't had for several months. Toughing it out, magnesium oil not helping, but for some reason I'm taking this as a positive thing that the ReMag is working. Weird, I know, but it feels like I may be already in that stage where Gabes described it as the body using up more magnesium that you can take in while reversing a long-term low magnesium status. Have read numerous posts about feeling "worse" before feeling better taking the magnesium. Maybe this is my body's way of "feeling worse".
Am very encouraged, despite the cramps! Tomorrow, I'll up my dose slightly again. Great to hear feedback from everyone!

magnesium is a key part of 'removing toxins'
so for people who have had leaky gut, there will be little toxins out in our bodies (causing inflammation) with healthier cells that have magnesium, the body can 'clear' these toxins
keep up the water, salt and maybe do foot soaks or a epsom salt bath etc to assist the body cleansing
I know on the biotoxins forums, quite a few people do things like sauna's, red light therapy, salt cave therapy, lymphatic massage etc to help the body clear the toxins when they are taking things like the Magnesium etc.
Holly the way you are taking it and that you were able to increase the dose is fantastic!
Awesome healing is underway!! enjoy the journey..

Thank you, Gabes! I may still have my huge under eye bags, feel tired to the bone, have inflammation belly bloat, and tonight the foot cramps ... but by golly I'm having 1 Norman a day and just feel happy! So beyond grateful to you, Tex, Vanessa and everyone for your wisdom and support.

I love hearing the quick improvements to peoples wellness and attaining good poops!
if you have a chance, write a post for the success stories area, what you have done since your Dx in April and the measureable improvements you are seeing now..
with these key milestones part of ongoing discussions, they are not readily available for new people. I want to increase the posts in the success stories area so people can see what works best, how long it took to see improvements etc

All I can say is YAY! That is soooo awesome Holly. I had foot cramps after starting regime also. Never had them in my life. Most would take this as a bad sign. It's actually the body using up the mag now that it's getting it......exactly what you thought. You have such a positive attitude, something I did not have at the beginning of my journey!
Laura, just take your 1/8 teaspoon in a liter of salted water and you'll do great! Move up slow from there every three days. You'll know when to hold em just like Kenny Rogers says.
All of these successes so far are awesome!
Big Love shout out to Gabes. The whole reason I even started looking into magnesium two years ago was because of THIS post about it. It's so funny that ReMag is named in your info and it took me this long to figure out thats what I needed....LOL. You really don't know how much you have made a difference in my life. So much gratitude for what you do. You have saved me from loads of unnecessary suffering. Thank you is not enough.
And the rest of you (you know who you are) thanks for all you do!

Big Love back atcha
I am only sharing the love that so many people here gave to me during my MC and wellness journey
majority of the people I have regular contact with in my life are friends I met via this forum, mostly via email and facebook
MC linked the friendship in the beginning, as time goes on, MC and poop is in the background as there are many other connections for the friendships
Vanessa, if you have a chance can you write a short summary for the success stories area, what you did, what worked best, indicator of time it took etc

Vanessa, thank you for sharing that info about the foot cramps! It sure helps to have someone else confirm that. The cramps did spread to my calves and I'm feeling some after-effects today, but hopefully they'll be better and not keep me up tonight. It can get confusing as too much magnesium can cause the same symptoms as too little. Also, I may have been drinking a bit too much water (more than I'm used to, and over a longer period of time now), so have cut back a bit today and added a little more sea salt.
Thank you for the encouragement to write something in the Success Stories! I guess I'm unsure whether it's appropriate since I'm so new here. My EnteroLabs were the highest overall of any I've seen (and results came less than a month ago), and I'm still so full of inflammation (as Tex said, "TILT"!) ... it's difficult for me to take that step in my mind yet. I'm really hoping (and I believe it will) that when my magnesium levels finally do come up, my insulin resistance and A1C will go back down again. It feels a bit too soon, yet. What do you all think?
The more positive attitude is pretty recent. Many months (and years, actually) of very dark days for me too. I can equate those years to barely treading water, while now I feel I at least have my toes touching the sand a good portion of most days and ENJOYING those moments when they come. Always a work in progress!
Totally agree about Vanessa sharing her journey!!!! How wonderful to come full circle to this same post and think how many more people have been helped by it, also!

Holly,
As far as I am aware, too much magnesium can cause diarrhea, and neurological issues, including heart, BP, temperature, and possibly breathing problems, but it will not cause leg cramps. Here's some insight on the foot/leg cramps:
Foot or leg cramps develop because the body is pulling magnesium from the leg/foot muscles in order to keep the blood level in the normal range. That happens because your body is using more magnesium than it has available in your bloodstream. Your blood magnesium level runs low during the wee hours of the morning because no magnesium is coming in during the night, so as the blood level of magnesium gets too low, your body pulls magnesium from your legs and feet. If no magnesium surplus is available in your legs/feet, then cramps develop because of the deficit.
The solution? Take a magnesium glycinate tablet at or slightly before bedtime. At least I think that should work. It works for me.
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thank you, Tex. My magnesium blood levels have likely been around 1.4 for a VERY long time (years), and when I've had foot cramps in the past I thought it was due to lack of calcium or potassium (I'm chronically low in potassium also, as was my mother). So I'm sure this body is trying hard to use any magnesium it can get! I've been continuing to drink my ReMag several times during the night also, and will definitely start taking a Dr's Best Chelated Magnesium Glycinate before bedtime when it arrives (ordered it on smile.Amazon.com last week).
Thanks again for the clear explanation which also helps reaffirm that I'm going in the right direction!

I agree with Tex. When I first started taking Magnesium glycinate I took 600 mg divided into 3 doses. Last dose at night. My foot and toe cramps abated as did the occasional Charley horse. I started to forget doses and soon I was only taking the morning dose, 200 mg. My toe cramps, looks like Spock toes, began again. I'm again taking a higher dose of magnesium glycinate and also use Life-flo magnesium cream on legs and feet. I also take Epsom salt baths to further supplement magnesium.
I forgot about posting to "success stories" and will do so.
