in some cases depending on what toxins you have - they would be contributing to some of the symptoms
http://drlwilson.com/articles/TOXIC%20METALS.htm
and you may have read some posts where i have said thsi before, in MC world we can not avoid every possible trigger, but we can minimise contact and 'manage' situations when we do have contact
it is the same for toxins, if we were born with them and near them during childhood, it is what it is... with proactive approach to our lifestyle now, the right eating plan, minimise contact where we can to current day toxins, and be proactive in our approach to removing existing ones then that is pretty darn good effort!!
young people that join the pyrolle forum and biotoxin forum that I am part of, that have the starting stages of chronic illness, if they make the right changes now, they can avoid ongoing chronic illness. There are parents struggling to keep their children in school due to behaviour issues linked to heavy metal poisioning/nutritional imbalances
from age 5 to high school - it is scary. these toxins are having HUGE impact on children of today. And the medical system is not looking at the root cause. They just put the kids on various ADHD drugs and shrug their shoulders when it doesnt resolve the issues..
this program about Lead is very interesting...

crime rates have DROPPED in areas where lead petrol is no longer used...Could lead exposure in childhood lead to an adult life marked by violent crime? In the latter half of the 20th century, violent crime soared in many countries. Recent research suggests leaded petrol emissions may be behind the epidemic. Anja Taylor investigates current sources of lead exposure and its developmental effects on children.

You are correct Gabes.....my son had (has) ADD and during his school years it was a struggle to avoid the meds. I tried him on them once, but the side effects were not worth it. In addition, he felt bad and did not want to take it.
We made it through, it was tough, but now he works, is married and raising a family.....but I know he still has issues.....he's just learned to compensate. He would not be interested in changing a thing about his diet, he smokes and is overweight. A mother will always worry about their kiddos, but you know the saying: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
I don't think we (me) have been very good stewards of this planet and we reap what we sow. Ooooooh, this is getting deep.....think it's time for bed!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Terre,
Yes, Uceris is not designed for tapering, because the doses probably cannot be divided properly due to the extended release feature. The tapering plan that you described is what most members here follow. I get the impression that they do not carry the tapering out anywhere nearly as long as is necessary with Entocort or Entocort generics. I think that most probably stop after they get down to about 1 every third day, and they remain at each level for only a week or 2, but I'm sure that some follow other plans.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks Tex. I will just have to use what I have left and hope for the best. I would really classify myself as a nonresponder to the med.....even though it did help with urgency and frequency. Today I have been to the toilet more times than usual and I'm wondering one of two things: 1) getting off of the Xifaxan or 2) some type of food issue that I'm just not aware of.
