while your gut is inflammed, and you are deficient in Vit D and magnesium, your bodies ability to absorb nutrients properly is compromised.
for now, dont think about nutrition. think calmly about lowered inflammation
as I have said in other discussions, the priority for you now is to get your Vit D levels, and magnesium levels high enough that they can reduce the inflammation. that process is going to take time, in your case I estimate 8-12 weeks.
I always make my broth on meat and salt only.

Gail,
I feel your frustration and pain. I was diagnosed in 2013 and am just now attempting to deal with my MC through diet alone. The only foods I am able to tolerate are weak bone broth, rice (minimal), small banana, peanut butter (minimal), chicken, Gatorade and water. The only reason I'm drinking Gatorade is to help with dehydration. I feel as if my body has turned on itself. "No food" it says. I work full time and sometimes the fatigue is a daily challenge. I have nocturnal WD episodes and I could be in the bathroom a dozen times. I carry what my grandson calls my "poop bag", lol. Clean clothes and all of the clean up necessities. This MC is a cruel witch when she's at full flare. Saw my GI last week out of desperation. Same old BS. I'm out of there. We're smarter in this group then most Gastro doctors.
Taking 4000 mg VIt d daily but on several meds for cardio issues. Also started Claritin.
Keep plugging away and keep your chin up. You are not alone.

something you might be interested in, Gatorade has alot of sugar (not good for MC) and the colours etc can also be a trigger
you can make a home made version via the recipe in this post http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=992
