Stinging in my arms

Post by Lilja »

Hi everybody,

For the last 1,5 years I have had awful stinging in my arms, mostly above my elbows, it feels like needles and ants, and it is the same feeling as when your foot or your arm is "sleeping". It's a constant sensation, it's not like a pain, but very disturbing.

Now I have read somewhere else that this could be due to too much vitamin B6, and that it could be a symptom of B6 toxicity. I started supplementing with B12 sublinguals, P-5-P and methyl folate I think it was in January, 2015.

I will stop the P-5-P and the methyl folate (but not the B12, as I'm on the low side here).

I have been thinking that the stinging was related to some thyroid phenomenom, but my Dr says no.

What do you think?

Maybe just reduce the B6 (dont stop it completely)

there can be lots of reasons for that type of symptom, Nervous system (linked to magnesium deficiency, Vit C, Zinc etc)

and in line with all the recent discussions about magnesium, you can also have some level of discomfort as toxins are cleared and the body starts using magnesium.

the needles and ants can also be related to a need for B1 and/or biotin

hope this helps.....

Thank you, Gabes.

I'll reduce the P-5-P to once a week.

I have been supplementing with zink, C, D3 and magnesium for more than three years, as well as this one for the last couple of months

So, 6 days ago I put all supplements aside, and tested each one, one by one per day. All except vitamin B6.

Magnesium: Ok, no stinging in my arms
Zink: Ok
B12: OK
SAMe: OK
Vitamin C: OK
Selenium: OK

Tomorrow I will supplement with P-5-P, to see if the pains in my arms come back and find out if this is "the big sinner". However, during these 6 days I have only supplemented with magnesium once, and today I have horrible pains in my feet. I have been working in our garden and been on my feet for 4 hours, and my feet and toes hurt so badly.

Could this mean that I have no magnesium in store? I thought that 5-6 days without magnesium - when I have been supplemeting with ReMag (one full cork every day for 2 months) had given me a good storage, and that 5 days without would not deplete the magnesium storage in my body. Could this mean that I have been taking too low doses, or that I don't absorb magnesium properly? And do the pains in my toes point to a goiter issue...

I have had no D since June 2015, and I have felt better and better day by day since then.

Yes I saw it. Thank you Gabes!

If this is not confusing, I don't know.
