why MC'ers dont tolerate pro-biotics very well

Post by Gabes-Apg »

A Gabes pondering:
this maybe why MC'ers dont tolerate pro-biotics very well, especially when inflammed.

there are more and more articles coming out about histamine and digestion issues, one thing I saw recently is that only a few pro-biotics dont cause histamine issues. Given how many MC'er do have histamine issues, and further that in the past 12 months we have confirmed that histamine issues is related to Magnesium deficiency and B6 issues, this connection of the dots gave me the thought that this might be why most MC'ers do not benefit from pro-biotics (and for some it makes things worse), but down the track (when histamine issues are balanced or magnesium issues are improved) that they then can tolerate them.

I am not a doctor, nor a scientist.. this is just a pondering based on what we have observed by members here, and what we have learnt about histamine, B6 and Magnesium.

I trust your ponderings, Gabes. I've taken probiotics for years and haven't noticed any change, I even increased the dosage and still nothing changed. One probiotic that was recommended for my trip to Cuba made me feel worse so I stopped that one. However, I have found that Florastor has really softened the skin on my face. I only take one per day; if it's quietly helping my gut, great! I'm only taking it because my skin feels better.

I work in long term care and our physicians always order Florastor when a resident is on an antibiotic for a UTI. I have no experience with it but I recognized the name.
