What great news Brandy! I hope "norman" sticks around for a looooong time!!!

Also, thanks for sharing what you have tried. I take Immodium as needed, but while taking Uceris, I haven't needed it as much. I am definitely going to try the Allegra as soon as I get to the store.

My mother also had Alzheimers, so I'm so glad you reminded me about the anticholinergic drugs. It just seems they link Alzheimers to so many things these days, that you would be hard pressed to alleviate them all.....but we can try.....such a terrible disease.

I tried the Pepto regimen and almost made it the whole time, but ringing in my ears made me discontinue.

Happy healing,

Terre

I took 8,000 units of d3 for most of the summer. I took my children to the pool 4 days a week. I just tested my d3 from the vitamin d council, and the result is 46 ng/ml. I assumed it would be a lot higher since I was in the sun also. That's around where I want to stay. You can order a test off their website and do it at home...

Thank you Martha! I had mine checked in April and the value was 59 ng/mL, but like Tex says, it's just a snapshot at that time.

This was interesting for me too, Brandy, as I have had a couple of months' flair (my first significant one in 6 years). I may try your protocol. It is prime time for allergies here, especially ragweed. Hmmmm.

Hi Terre and Deb,

Yes this is my first significant flare in about 5 years. I'm not totally out of the woods yet so I popped another 24 hour allegra last night. I've had to get a baby vaporizer as the antihistamine is so drying. I use eye jell at night and a saline nose spray to help with the dryness. The problem is controlling stress and my thoughts. No more WD, finally, I'm at pencil stool/goat droppings.

I have some ongoing stressful situations and was thinking about them and could feel my stomach start churning. I'm going to yoga today and am going to add a lot of yoga to my protocol to try to control the stress.

This is a rough disease. When you are in remission you forget how awful this disease is. One thing I noticed is week after week of WD is in and of itself very depressing and stressful.

Wishing everyone good healing and low stress. While newly diagnosed, I'm not new to mc! How I wish there were easier ways to control stress (or at least how we react to stress). That said, I do believe that our bodies and spirits have everything we need and already know how to do this.

It's so easy in our current environment to get out of balance in many ways, making it difficult to get back to the simple rhythms of life such as breathing and just "being". Perhaps that's one reason going to the ocean is such a positive influence ... and just being in nature, period.

Well said, Brandy. One of the biggest challenges of controlling our symptoms, our mc and our lives.

I'm sure that is was stress that triggered mine this time as well. Brandy, I think I recall you're in the Panhandle. I will be in Orange Beach, AL this winter. Maybe we could meet for coffee or lunch sometime??? Deb

Hi Deb,

I'm actually live in Gainesville which looks like it is about 375 miles. Lets keep things open. Beach always sounds good. Sometimes my boyfriend has business or has to drive his son to Alabama.

Deb,

By the way thank you for the very kind invite! It is the nicest thing that has happened today in a sea of really weird stressors.
