Magnesium question

Post by Suzy »

Hi. Do you know if it's possible to get enough magnesium supplementation (I would like about 600mg a day) from just transdermal sprays? I'm having trouble taking it orally (it seems to contribute to my heartburn -- even the magnesium glycinate powder that has no other ingredients).

Also, has anyone tried Mother Earth liquid magnesium?

Thanks!

Suzy
it is reasonably possible, if you can do it across multiple parts of your body about 6 times a day then yes.

not sure if you have seen some of the other recent discussions, Vanessa started using the 'ReMag' liquid from Dr Dean. This is a highly absorbable form of magnesium.

using small dose of the liquid - along with the transdermal might be a good option for you.

hope this helps

suzy,

I just had a RBC magnesium test recently, my result was 5.9 mg/dL. I got the test through request a test. Dr Dean says you want a result between 6.0-6.5 mg/dO. I know it's not completely accurate. I use only the oil for my magnesium. I use Life Flo pure magnesium oil. I am a blonde headed, blue eyed, freckled white skin person. I burn very easily which is why I think I'm absorbing it pretty well. I cover my whole body every morning except top of back and chest, it irritates me there. I think roughly 360 mg. I leave it on 20 minutes sometimes more before I take shower. At night I cover my arms and legs, roughly 300 mg. I drink 1 cup of coffee (kerig single cup, very small) some days and that's it as far as something that can deplete mg. Now I'm on an antibiotic for a UTI, so I'm soaking my feet for an hour in the life Flo mag flakes, to get additional mg. Plus I'm drinking Fiji water that has 15 mg/L and Pacific hemp milk, 25% mg. Pacific hemp says they can no longer promise gf so I will probably quit drinking soon. You can also use remag topically. I put that on my lower back every night and leave it. 4 squirts, I think 75 mg maybe...

Hope this helps!

Hey gabes im also using magnesium i was wondering if this brand is very absorbable:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004N ... UTF8&psc=1

The past few days I got very loose stools from using that brand and I only did 10 sprays abdomen and arms, does that mean I have too much magnesium (I eat too many avocados and egg whites)? Should I just keep taking magnesium?

I really want to continue in order to get my D levels up and use most of the vitamin D I take.

Btw, suzy are you taking vitamin D? It's an acid reflux killer I recommend softgels with oil on them (coconut or olive oil) they are the easiest on the stomach, Im gonna push for 10 000 UIs to help my reflux, dont know if its too much yet

Thanks nsaid! My last vitamin D test (very recent) showed my levels at 118. I'm using a sublingual drop that works very well. :)

That is a similar product to what i use here in Aus
if you are using topical magnesium, even if you have too much it should not impact stool quality.

what maybe affecting stool quality is that the magnesium is doing what it is meant to be doing, magnesium is key in the process for the body to clear toxins/excess metals etc.
also - avocados are classed as a high histamine food, maybe the loose stool is due to histamine reaction?

couple of years ago I was doing oral and transdermal and once the major deficiency was resolved, I used transdermal only.

then 6-8 weeks ago, based on Vanessa's ReMag post, i got a similar liquid product from my Chiro/Kinesiologist here in Aus, and have had great results with that.
Due to non MC health issues, I am trying to clear excess toxins/metals and use lots of magnesium

Are you using the product you got from your chiro transdermally? I ordered the ReMag myself but am still debating if I will stick to just transdermal or do both -- trans and oral.

the product from my chiro is ionised magnesium drops for oral intake - very similar to the Dr Dean ReMag product

(for me being based in Australia it was cheaper for me to source local supply rather than pay international shipping etc)
