Spectra Cell Testing

Post by crervin »

Has anyone tried spectra cell testing? Worth the cost? Nutrionists' don't do vitamin testing, only functional med drs :mallet: :mallet: Can I bypass a Dr and do it at a lab? Its "investigational", insurance doesn't cover it. That would cost less....it's around $400 just for the test.😢

I did that test a few years back with a chiro/naturopath and it showed I was a little low in vit k. I felt so awful at the time that I couldn't beleive that was all it showed. Now I know it was prob mag (which I was already supplementing, just not enough). Anyway, looking back I wish I would have saved my thousands and walked away sooner.

Everything I needed was right here on this board. It took a long time for me to accept it. Of course that is just my experience and doesn't mean someone else can't find some benefit.....

Thank you Vanessa for your input! My kids are in so many activities that I can't really afford it. I thought if it did help, I could fork up the money. My nutritionist said that the functional med Dr tries to force you into buying his supplements. I definitely don't want to deal with that.

Agree with Vanessa. and what some of these tests dont indicate is things like Magnesium etc, so you are not getting the 'full story'

Thank you gabes. I so appreciate you guys! I emailed remag and Dr Dean about the spectra cell testing. I was just curious what her thought was on the WBC magnesium test, which is included in the spectra cell test. Here is her response below.

Hello, Martha! This is Melody-Rose from RnA ReSet Customer Service.

Dr. Dean answered another customer with a similar question. This is what she had to say:

In the 2017 edition of Magnesium Miracle, I am mentioning the WBC testing which is actually better than RBC testing. That's because WBC contain mitochondria which is where magnesium does a lot of work to make energy; 6 or the 8 steps in the Krebs cycle need magnesium.

White blood cells, or leukocytes, contain the same organelles as eukaryotic cells, such as the Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, a nucleus and nucleolus, centrioles, rough endoplasmic reticulum, smooth endoplasmic reticulum and peroxisomes.

My concern about SpectraCell is that people have to find a doctor who does it, pay them, pay for the testing etc. etc. etc., whereas most of the time I don't think people even need any testing.

So, there is your answer.

Regards,

I wanted to put this in here for future reference. Also there is a place in my area that does a micronutrient spectra cell test. You can walk in and no Dr is needed. Any Lab Test Now is the name of the place. The cost is $400. A little pricey. This is for those who can't eat many foods and can't take supplements. This would help them zero in on deficiencies, if you have the money.

I think I'm going to have to cut out sweet potatoes (my main source of vitamins) due to my latest IC problem. I'm getting low abdominal pain (bladder I think, who knows) after eating them. Going to try rotating them (i've been eating them everyday😀). So I may wind up doing this test eventually.
