Anyone heard of esophageal spasms?

Post by Suzy »

I think my chest pains may be esophageal spasms (I might also have nutcracker esophagus). I also have GERD thanks to the PPI I was put on for gastritis. Does anyone know anything about these spasms? I don't think they're dangerous but they are painful. I can swallow food with no problem. I refuse to go on a PPI for it (just got off) and am weaning off an H2. No more acid blockers for me. Thanks all.

Hey Suzy,

Going up on your magnesium can greatly help this issue. Not sure how much your taking?

Another thought was to put mag oil directly on outside of throat. I've done this before and found that it helped at night when it would bother me most.
