sparkling water
i was wondering how people are doing with plain sparkling water (like soda stream) and/or the sparkling ICE waters - flavored with sucralose, natural flavors and fruit juice concentrates. i've veered away for now due to the 'additional stuff' but wondered about carbonation in general. i seem ok with the plain (CO2 infused) sparkling water and i can trick myself into thinking its more than plain water...
any input would be appreciated.

what I have found, and this maybe the same for others, is that the bubbles tend to disrupt the digestion process a bit.
if you have them away from eating maybe.
I would be cautious about natural flavours /juice concentrates if they contain chemical sugars. anything stevia based is ok (stevia is a plant based sweetener)
if you can tolerate small amount of citrus, having plain water with some lemon and/or lime slices in it works well (bit of flavour)
or even maybe water with a strawberry and a few mint leaves in it (just for flavour not to consume)

thank you, gabes,
i have a Stevia sweetener called Truvia - reading the label, it uses erythritol as the natural sweetener produced by a fermentation process. do you think that is ok? i see another stevia product - Sweet Leaf - that does not have any artificial sweeteners. probably better, huh? i'm learning - boy they do sneak in stuff to so many products...
i love citrus but since this flare, i've eliminated citrus until my tummy calms. today is a very good day so maybe i'll try a bit in a few days...we have both lemon and lime trees in the yard.

Hi Babs,
I was drinking the La Croix sparkling waters and I'm ok with them but they have a lot of chemicals in them. Then I found the European sparkling waters.
San Pellegrino and Perrier. There are also some US naturally sparkling mineral waters from New York state but I can't remember the names.
Perrier has some flavored ones (in addition to the plain) but they are artificially flavored. I'm ok with them but I've moved on to San Pellegrino.
I get the San Pellegrino plain in the glass bottles. I like the flavor of the San Pellegrino and the San Pellegrino naturally has calcium in it.
I'm drinking about a bottle a day.
The US varieties are sometimes 25 or 50 cents less a bottle but we have so little luxuries in our life so I splurge.
I even like the way the bottles look on my countertop--kind of hip and Euro.

thank you so much...i have found that plain soda stream water seems fine for me. i never used flavors but like the carbonation. since my mc seems to be resolved for the time being, i'm going to begin using some herbs, etc. in both my cooking and my water. mint is always a great, refreshing taste.

Re: sparkling water
I love mint in my ice tea. We grew mint in the yard and had a large fig tree. I like figs to this day, but can cause diarrhea. Dorothy
