Another Magnesium deficiency symptom

Post by Vanessa »

Hey kids!

I know we've touched on this before but it's changed animals on me. A long while back I had a period of time I would wake up gasping for air just as I was drifting off to sleep, then go right back asleep. No anxiety, and could go back to sleep within seconds. Ignored it by choice, anomalie went away for months.

Now, I wake up in the middle of the room or wake up trying to get my bedroom door open. I bolt out of bed like a jolt of adrenaline has hit me. Sometimes proceeded by claustrophobic dreaming, other times no recollection. Always go right back to sleep. Embarrassed more than anything else but not nervous. Otherwise I think I would lie awake in fear of going back to sleep, which never happens.

Could be a couple of things. Drinking my bedside ReMag water helps. I'm in a panic mode up until I realize I'm sleep running. I wonder if my throat is closing up from being dry and I'm having periods of low oxygen causing my body to jolt awake and breathe. I don't have heart problems and very seriously doubt I have suddenly developed central sleep apnea. CNS could still be off line from getting off benzo. I think since I'm in a flare, my mag has dipped down below the precious fine line....makes for an interesting night!

What is the cause of Sleepwalking?
Sleep deprivation, chaotic sleep schedules, fever, stress, magnesium deficiency, and alcohol intoxication can trigger sleepwalking.

Drugs, for example, sedative/hypnotics (drugs that promote sleep), neuroleptics (drugs used to treat psychosis), minor tranquilizers (drugs that produce a calming effect), stimulants (drugs that increase activity), and antihistamines (drugs used to treat symptoms of allergy) can cause sleepwalking

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
