Budesonide side effects?

Post by kbrents1 »

Hi all, I was just switched from Lialda to budesonide because of side effects after 2 weeks. However the side effects listed online for budesonide seem worse. I know a lot of you have and are on budesonide. Can you share your experience?

I took Entocort for several months for my flare and had no significant side affects. Good luck to you. It was a definite life saver for me and stopped my WD after approximately 2 weeks.

Hi Kelly,

I've unfortunately been on budesonide since February. It has all but reduced WD, but I'm not 100% back to normal. To answer your question: I'm not aware of any obvious side effects from the medicine, and it has been a life saver.

I haven't had any side effects - except I quickly went from D to C - so I had to reduce down to 6mg and then to 3mg within just a couple weeks of starting Budesonide. I was also drastically changing my eating during that time and cutting out dairy, gluten and fried food.
