My husband wanted to take me to dinner for my birthday - which you know is quite troublesome for our MC issues. Using Yelp I found a fish house in Portland that is mostly gluten free and dairy free! I wasn't brave enough to try their fish and chips - even though completely gluten free and fried in a rice oil, but I did get their tuna steak and a fantastic thai coleslaw salad. Loved it! I got their recipe for the slaw as it was amazing - just fish sauce, rice vinegar and chili paste. For dessert they had "cheese" cakes that were gluten and dairy free - I got chocolate peanut butter!! What a treat! I did have a lot of gas last night, but otherwise was fine. Not sure if it was the spiciness of dinner or the sugar in the cheese cake.

Michelle
the dinner sounds perfect, there will always be a few niggly symptoms when we eat out - but it is worth it for the rare treat.

I like that in 'MC world' eating out is a rare treat - rather than something we did the week before

Glad you had a great night.
