turkey

Check your local whole foods for Diestel turkey. They are located in Sonora, CA. They have a great website. They sell whole turkeys and sandwhich meats; I found one that was just turkey...kind of dry but very tasty. I tried there turkey sausage at a restaurant near Sonora and it was really good. I went to the local grocery store and of course they carried all of their products but I was 3 hrs from home and I didn't want to risk it. Next time I'm up there I'm going prepared to buy!

Anyway, I found some of their products at Whole Foods...might be worth checking into in your area.

Hope you're feeling better.

I made Gloria's egg free brown sugar muffins without corn starch and they were delicious! I added almond extract and blueberries to one batch. Very good. I sure hope I can have almonds after my enterolab comes back....

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give a quick update, I've been keeping up with the magnesium and vitamin D, and I'm looking into getting a multivitamin too.
My diet has stayed very simple, but I still don't know a single food that's "safe" because I have not once, had a bowel movement that wasn't painful, which is my biggest problem. I'm still having pain everyday and my constipation keeps coming and going, but what's weird is i keep having more and more mucus...so I kind of feel like I'm not making progress.

Rachael,

Bummer. Yes, you're right — the mucus is a sign of inflammation. I've forgotten — are you taking any type of medication? In many cases, even contraceptives can perpetuate symptoms.

But it's also possible that the inflammation is just slow to recede. Some cases are more stubborn than others. IOW, you might just need more healing time.

Thanks for the update.

Hi! I'm sorry for your positive testing to everything. I did bloodwork 6 years ago with ALCAT and because it came back with everything positive, I ignored it... wheat, dairy, soy, almonds, pork, chicken, beef, white potato, and way more than I can list.... the meat I CAN have according to my list were turkey, salmon and most seafoods (except haddock, which I apparently have a high intolerance to) and shrimp... and eggs... (go figure!). I'm re-testing with Enterolabs to see if they still match up, but for now, it's eggs, turkey and salmon...I have found that chia seeds work great as an egg substitute... 1 tbsp seeds+ 3 Tbsp water, let sit for 5 minutes and the protein slurry they make are great for egg substitute.... also check out the GF vegan site on Facebook... lots of recipes.,.. and most Paleo cookbooks have great options that are GF/DF...Good luck!
