Colonoscopy prep

Post by maestraz »

Hi folks,
I haven't been on here in quite a while. I continue to have good, if uneven, success with the Welchol.

Having my first post-LC diagnosis colonoscopy, and am nervous about the prep I have been given. Does anyone have experience with the two-step Suprep? This is the one where there are two dosage bottles (sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate solution), and you do one the evening before and one the morning of the procedure. I am really nervous about the morning situation. You have to finish the diluted second bottle, drink two 16-oz. glasses of water within an hour after, and be done with all that two hours before the procedure. I have a feeling getting to the place after that is going to be an adventure...

Let me know what your experience with it has been, if anyone has used it. Thanks!

Yeah...best to plan on making stops

Post by hingbretson »

Well, I might not be as bad off as a lot of people on this forum, but I did that last step and they warned me to plan on making stops on the way to the colonoscopy. It's a 30 minute drive. I went before we left and I think I WOULD have made it except my other half had to stop at Caribou to get himself a latte... so, I went inside to use their BR...but by then it's just fluid and if you can hold it, do your best... it's not as explosive and irritating as MC itself... another level of urgency that is easier to ignore. Good luck!
