How was your Valentines Day?

Post by harvest_table »

Happy Belated Valentine Wishes to you all!

I'm enjoying a much needed day of rest at home after 5 very hectic days in the shop of getting ready for the big day and then living threw it. Glad it's over. I came home and plopped in bed. No dinner, candles, wine, chocolates or even LOVE. It's like that for anyone whose a florist on all the major flower holidays....we are just happy to live through it!

Anyone have any romantic stories to share about what you did for your loved ones or what they did for you? I hope, some of you at least got flowers!

Love,
Joanna

I got some beautiful flowers (red roses, of course), chocolates, a balloon, and a very soft cuddly teddy bear. I was truly spoiled rotten.

Believe me, we more than appreciate you hard working florists.

This one's for you:

Well, you already know I went to the diner carrying my steamed veggies with me. LOL! (I guess we MIs have invented the "reverse doggie bag" - we take food in with us and come out with an empty bag. ).

Scott gave me a cuddly new robe and a gift certificate for a massage. I was thrilled, needless to say.

We took some flowers to my Mom. I think florists are wonderful - thanks Joanna!

Love,

Polly

Larry was on vacation so he was home for a change. I received beautiful red roses and a call ahead - drive up - delivered to your car Outback dinner! Spending an extra evening with my husband was nice!

I agree - I love florists!

Hahahhaha...I can only wish for romantic stories...one of my advisees at school gave me a carnation....very sweet girl..... and my friend, the school nurse, came over last night and brought me a carnation too. Another dear friend at work gave me a beautiful card and handkerchief....how timely! Actually, the hanky is gorgeous and it is the kind of thing a person would never buy for themselves...so, yes, I had a nice day and talked to my niece on the phone and other friends too!

Hi All,

Late on this one but really no romantic stories. We exchanged cards in the morining and Frank bought me 3 pair of Dansko clogs the the before the hospital. Early Valentine's Day Gift. By the way, we have a Dansko outlet about 15 miles from us - very handy.

Valentine's day was my car window broke so I spent the day home. Best part of the day was getting hooked up to the Cardionet monitor on Valentine's Day night. A very nice gift for my heart.

Love, Maggie

Well, an utterly unspectacular day here....Tuesday night was the Cub Scouts' annual Blue & Gold dinner - there is a big ceremony for the 5th grade boys transitioning up to Boy Scouts. My husband was in charge of the banquet part - he had arranged the catering and had to go pick up Mexican food for 150 people! It actually came off quite nice, considering it was pulled together by some dads who have no clue about event planning

I had to work late, so he had to do it all (setup etc.) with all 3 kids in tow - welcome to my life, LOL! and I snuck in a bit late. I only ate the chips and salsa - wasn't sure about the status of everything and it was a bad week to suffer repercussions!

Oh well, at least I didn't have to cook! We're not big on "Hallmark holidays" so it was fine w/me!
