Hi there,
I have had LC now on and off for 6 years
Back again and this time worse tHan before.
I was wondering what do people do besides diet and meds to control this disease to reduce stress?
Exercise or too tired?
Mindfulness?
Yoga?
Lifestyle changes

Hi there Sinead
things i have done to reduce stress
- relaxation activities like colouring in
- mindfullness, guided meditations,
- of a night I listen to audiobooks and podcasts (dont watch TV or use computer)
- spend time in nature
- avoid toxic environments - big crowds, mouldy places, intense people, etc
- turn off wifi devices of a night
- i have taken 'steps down' with my career and work places to jobs that are less intense.
hope this helps..

Hello. I walk every day, even in the winter. I retire early to read, listen to music that soothes me or color (adult coloring book & colored pencils). In the spring & fall I kayak (on smooth water, not rapids). I avoid crowds and negative people. I am working on the job stress. I recently asked to work in another position but it hasn't happened yet. When I am stressed about something I ask myself how much it really matters...and most times it doesn't.

Terrific insight! I totally agree.Marcia wrote:When I am stressed about something I ask myself how much it really matters...and most times it doesn't.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I've noticed that having adequate VitD3 and Magnesium levels has really improved my stressed feeling. As I type this I am thinking back to how anxious and uptight I used to feel....I can honestly say I don't feel that anymore. I still have emotional set backs once in a while....but I think my hormones help me create my own personal drama at times....it doesn't last very long and I realize I may just need a bit more supportive supplementation during those times.
I tell myself during times of stress "this too shall pass, and will it have an impact on me in a day, month, year or 5 years"....it's at that time I evaluate whether or not to give it credence of being stressful or not.
Hugs
