Managing MC

Post by Janie »

I have slowly come back to the living. Area 51 is improving. I have resolved my breathing problem,(Can't take a deep breath) with religiously taking of Magnesium and Vit D. I have stayed on meat and cooked veggies for about 6 mos. and now have added some gluten free, dairy free waffles and bagels with almond butter. I have started adding some more supplements to my day including b complex and fish oil along with Vit. C and my meds. I take Allegra and small amt. of Benedryl at night most days. I am on a routine dose of loperamide to help regulate my BMS. My new GI Dr. is helping me manage the MC. but I don't tell him everything. But he is not fond of PPI's  so that is a plus.
I still have a hard time with social anxiety and I am slowly working on that with my friends and family. I live with my family which eat gluten but are conscious of my eating and cooking space. I can't stress about that or our new President either. It is workable.
I have read all the main forum and apply what I can to me. I had a rough start mainly because I didn't take the steroid, due to osteoporosis and most meds I have tried have disagreed with me. I will never give up my Mag or Vit D since I feel once that was under control everything fell in to place.
Thank you to Gabes and Tex along with everyone else who have contributed to this support group. I will try to contribute as I can.

Janie,

It's great to see that you're doing so much better. And I agree with you that once we get the basics for healing established, things begin to fall into place.

Thank you for your inspiring update. I hope you continue to recover until your original symptoms are nothing more than a bitter memory.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
