Ear Plugs and Melatonin

Post by Lilja »

This story is meant just for my fellow MC-friends. I would never tell this to my family or friends.

Last night I couldn’t sleep. The clock showed 1 am, 2 am, and then I decided to get up to find my Melatonin capsules. Usually, if I get up during night I do not turn on any lights because the light make me more awake (I’m «old», so I should turn on the lights, I know...).

I use ear plugs made from cotton and wax, so I brought my ear plugs in one hand while going to my kitchen to find my Melatonin capsules. I took out my 2 melatonin capsules, put them in my other hand, filled 1 glass of water and went to bed. I thought my melatonin capsules melted in the palm of my hand very quickly, and thought «weird, how fast they got warm from the heat of my hands», but I swallowed the melatonin capsules, and tried to put the ear plugs back in my ears before going to bed again.

I had swalloved my ear plugs

I am so glad you decided to share this gem with us! Please keep us updated on how your gut does with cotton and wax. Might be on to something here. This may be just the diet I need to firm up my bowels!

Be honest, you had a little freak out moment once you realized what you had done before you laughed! Don't worry though, super models have been swallowing cotton balls for years to feel full...

Hahaha! Not to worry. My husband snores so I wear ear plugs, which I use for the night and then throw in the bathroom trash can in the morning. Our dog LOVES them, and eagerly trots into the bathroom each morning and roots around in the trash looking for them. He has no doubt consumed hundreds of various types over the years, to no ill effect. They pass right through his digestive tract.........

Lilja,

Great story. I too hate to turn on a light when I have to get up during the night, but I've found that a good nightlight or two can be worth their weight in gold, sometimes.

You may be on your way to becoming a supermodel. But the real question is, "did the earplugs help you to get to sleep, and how well did the melatonin capsules work as earplugs?"

Thanks for sharing,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex, Vanessa, Rosie:

I don't know... I was so fed up, both from no sleep and from my own silly confusion, so I finally did go to sleep around 4 am.
Tonight, I'm happy watching Chess World Championship, no sleep so far due to the excitement, cheering young Magnus Carlsen. But that is my own free will

Thank you for sharing this. I use ear plugs off and on since my hubby snores. I've never tried using them your way, though

I needed that laugh!

I wear earplugs at night too because any noise will keep me up unless I fall asleep first. My husband snores but even thecsound of him breathing can seem huge. It's such a pain being over sensitive to everything. My cats also love the earplugs. On occassion, I will wake up to one of them trying to pull it out of my ear.
