A Good Article on Malabsorption

Post by Lilja »

Hi,

I think this overview can help us understand the reasons behind malabsorption in a good, easy-to-understand way. At least I did, despite the medical language

Lilja,

Yes, that appears to be an excellent article. Did you happen to read enough of the "consumer version" to notice that rather than it being a rewriting of the professional article to include explanations of the medical terms, it was a dumbed-down, almost completely different article. I'm not sure if medical professionals continue to mistakenly believe that consumers are too dumb to understand the science of medicine, or they just don't want consumers to read the "good" stuff.

Thanks for the link.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I didn't even notice that there was a Consumer Version until you said so
But, I think your'e right. They think we laymen are dumb, so they explain it like we would do to children.
