Lucky Me Found a Support Group!
Hello fellow MCers! I am retired but fit, active, health-aware and still learning to accept my recent diagnosis. I'm only slightly past the 'why me?' stage. LOL Mentally I realize that I have to find the 'good' in my lymphocytic colitis and still live an active, positive life; however, emotionally it still sucks. I've always looked after my health.......vegetarian/vegan, slim, hike, kayak, do yoga, meditate, yada, yada.......so how did this happen to ME?!!!!
I am soooo looking forward to meeting people here and reading all the topics to learn more about living with this 'issue' (I refuse to call it a chronic disease! ;-)).
Here I go..........

Hi Hazel,
Welcome aboard. I agree with you — the loneliest and most hopeless period of my life was after the reality of my situation began to sink in, and before I had worked out a recovery plan. The unknown is almost always scary and depressing.
Please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Welcome Hazel! Tex, Gabes, Marcia, Erica and so many others here have been a beacon of light for me during my darkest days dealing with this issue. There is a wealth of knowledge, support and healing advice here. Don't hesitate to ask questions!

Welcome, Hazel. I've been dealing with MC for ten years and just found this place last spring. I'm pretty sure that my life would have been a lot better had I found this place ten years ago. So, give yourself credit for finding us now. The diagnosis is overwhelming but as everyone else has stated, you will find a lot of help and support here; so, feel free to ask for help.

HI!!!!
just wanted to say welcome!!
I was away for a 3 day weekend at a big event and it is taking a few days for my body to recover.
I have started to chime in on some of your questions and will write a better reply as time allows

Hi Hazel !
I found this wonder place a few months ago.....the relief of knowing you're not alone/ crazy was such a wonderful feeling! At first I was so overwhelmed with all the reading I had to do and to listen to everybody's experiences. I had 1000 questions and I probably repeated the same question 1000 times, but that's what's great about the people on here , They have no problem repeating the answers! happy reading and bring on the questions!

you are doing a grand job of finding areas and posting questions,
my only suggestion is have you read through our guidelines to recovery?
