Hi Betty,
I've never tried the GAPS diet, so I can't offer any insight on experiences with the diet, but I just wanted to welcome you to our Internet family. I hope that you can find the information that you are seeking.
Most of us develop our own personal recovery diet plan, based on avoiding our particular food sensitivities. I do note that the GAPS diet is better suited for treating MC patients than the SCD, simply because it avoids all sources of casein (most of us here are sensitive to casein, so the SCD does not work for us).
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything. And keep us posted on how well the diet works if you decide to try it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Uh-Oh! That's what I get for trying to respond to a post while my mind's on something else.
You're right of course. I appreciate you pointing that out. I reckon I'd better change my post before everyone reading it becomes as confused as I was when I wrote it.
And to think that I was hoping to postpone the onset of senility for another year or 2. Thanks Linda.

from my observation over the years, no one strict eating plan works for everyone, and even moreso in MC world as each person has to tweak/adjust their eating plan to individual ingredients etc
things like Auto Immune Paleo or the Terry Wahls eating plan or the Bulletproof Diet can provide some good foundations to modify and work with.
It is important to come up with an eating plan that you enjoy, suits budget, and lifestyle and that you use as a foundation for long term.
