Tumeric... does it help?

Post by Carol2121 »

I've been reading about the effects of Tumeric and inflammation. Has anyone any luck with taking tumeric? Any recommended brands?

In my time here on this forum (coming up to 7 years) the inflammation of a MC reaction is 'different' to other types of inflammation in the body.

this has been evidenced by; no one medication type works for every MC person, along with the functional/natural protocols used successfully for Crohns and IBS, do not work the same for MC.

When I was first diagnosed and before I found this group I took Tumeric because my cousin's naturopath recommended it to her for leaky gut. It actually made my stomach hurt so I stopped taking it. Gabes, funny thing - my GI told me if the Pepto treatment didn't work for me they would put me on medication that Crohns patients use. Seriously? As you said what works for Crohns and IBS doesn't work for us. If only the medical field knew that!

Marcia - some of the medications that Crohns patients use, have helped 'some' members here... albeit none of them completely resolve issues for us, a good state of remission is reliant on removing triggers, good lifestyle and key things like Vit D3 and magnesium

my other experience has been with things like acupuncture / natural therapies / herbs etc - the treatment protocols that work for 90% of crohns patients did not work for me.
