year end thoughts

Post by brandy »

As year end approaches, I’m thinking about how much more we know about treating microscopic colitis compared with when I first joined the forum. Antihistamines and cholestyramine were not being discussed back in 2011. We did not yet have a foundation to advocate for MC. If you have not checked out the foundation website, it is here.

http://www.microscopiccolitisfoundation.org/

If you have not signed up for the quarterly email blast you can sign up here.

The email blast is helpful as it includes information and studies that are not being discussed on the forum.

There are a number of ways we can give back to the MC Foundation:
Our foundation members are always looking for topic suggestions. You can make suggestions at this email address.

newsletter@microscopiccolitisfoundation.org

Year end financial donations can be made here.

http://www.microscopiccolitisfoundation ... -help.html

The Microscopic Colitis Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation, classified by the IRS as a public charity, which means that all donations are deductible to the full extent allowed by the tax code. Donations can be made via Paypal or credit card. All donors receive a letter that can be used as proof of their donation for Income Tax purposes. And all first time donors get a cool laminated bathroom access card based on Ally’s Law that can be used in bathroom access emergencies.

In addition, members can designate the Microscopic Colitis Foundation as their charity of choice for purchases made through Smile.Amazon. Smile.Amazon is a division of Amazon that offers exactly the same products, at the same prices, as the regular Amazon site. But Amazon will contribute to the MC Foundation a percentage of all purchases made on the Smile.Amazon site by everyone who has selected the foundation as their charity of choice. This is a way to contribute at no cost to you. Smile.Amazon can be found at:

http://smile.amazon.com/

Another option is PayPal Giving. PayPal Giving is a service provided by PayPal to facilitate making donations to verified nonprofits. A donation made through PayPal Giving will go 100% to the non-profit. PayPal Giving can be found at:

https://www.paypal.com/givingfund/donors

I’m incredibly thankful for our board members who serve without compensation.
Our board members: Wayne, Rosalyn, Jessica and Holly. You can read about our board members here:

Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas to all of my friends on the board!

Thank you, Brandy. This site is wonderful and has helped so many people. I don't know where I would be without it.

Thanks everyone! Yes it is nice to see the photos of our foundation staff. You can clearly see a mix of ages and sexes for those with MC. All of the photos are great but I am incredibly touched by the photo of Jessica with her baby!

The bio's are interesting too. We have some top notch folks on our foundation.
