All Purpose flour subsitution for brownie recipe

Post by terre »

I am craving to make a brownie recipe, but not sure what to use in place of the all purpose flour. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

quite a few options/suggestions in the 'Dee's Kitchen' area of the forum

there are commercial/retail Gluten Free flours available OR you can make up your own using safe flour options

the main thing with converting normal recipes to suit gluten free, is to increase moisture content of the recipe by 1/4-1/3
I use things like coconut oil, pure cocao butter to do this

another option is that a very safe gluten free, dairy free, soy free retail product is 'Orgran brownie mix' this may be available for purchase online.
you can enhance this by adding in some of the enjoy life GF, DF, SF chocolate etc

Terricia,

Here's an old post about a safe brownie mix:

I would probably try almond flour or a combination of coconut flour and almond flour. That's about all I bake with at all these days.
