Thanks for the update. I haven't figured out traveling yet....Great cooler. I think I will order for car trips to see family. Start small! And wonderful news on weight loss. I bet that makes you feel like a million bucks ( well that and your super healthy diet  )

Vanessa,

The cooler is great, and it holds a lot! When I went through TSA, I had my letter (if I needed it), and I just did 2 quart sized freezer bags of ice on the bottom.....(someone had told me that ice was better than the ice packs that they might take the ice pack and I also knew I could get ice in the airport if they took the ice - I threw in extra bags just in case).........I put my iPad in the top zipper and I was ready to go..........

I also just bought this cooler on wheels for traveling by car: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/igloo-60qt ... 1770544.ip

It really kept things cold for several days...........I have a smaller one that that also, so depending on where I'm going and how long and how much food I need to take.

I do feel tons better and I look back at pictures and know that gluten and dairy have been toxic to my body for a really long time.

Jari,

My boyfriend gave me your ebag recommendation for flying. I really like the bag! (See first post in thread). It is not too big and not too small. It would definitely hold enough food for a cross country trip or international flight but it is small enough to squish under a seat. I like the exterior pockets too--for sweater, kindle, etc.

Brandy,

I think you'll really like it.....I never leave home without it anymore. It has become my carry on when I travel by plane and always goes with me in the car. Glad you got one! What color did you get?

Hi Jari,

I ended up getting the black as I thought it had more of a "business look" but I love all of the jewel tones. The price is good too.

Jari - Great news that your trip went so well. I've been away from home myself, but haven't ventured that far. We've been talking about going to Vegas or another area close to that to get to warmer climate for awhile. I'm going to look up that "bag" you mentioned you did so well with. Thanks for the tip.

It's always nice to get positive feedback from those who travel with MC.

I think you will love it! I never travel without mine.............

When I went to Vegas and to Mississippi, I used ice in quart sized freezer bags (double bagged). I have been told they don't allow the blue ice things so I just used one bag of ice. I figured if they made me throw it out, I could get more once I was beyond TSA. (So I carried extra freezer bags with me). But neither coming or going did they say anything at all to me. I didn't have any liquids in there. I took some turkey for protein and some snacks (bars, etc.) I found those almond butter packets and had some of those with a couple of bananas and rice cakes. Some chips. The protein was the biggie for me.......some turkey or ham so I wouldn't get so hungry.

So as long as I don't take any drinks with me and just purchase after the fact I should be ok.

Whew....ok...I think I can take adequate amounts of the protein an some rice cakes and a hazelnut/butter pkt kinda like peanut butter in a tiny pkg that I can squeeze onto things. My chips and I ought to be good to go.....

Thanks Jari! I'm not so afraid to do this travel thing in a couple weeks  I can do this!!

Also keep in mind that if you have good protein meals in the few days before travelling, to have a 'light two meal type day' will be ok.

drink lots of water and use the flight time to listen to podcasts/audiobooks and relax - zone out etc.

You'll be just fine! But I remember the stress before the first trip. Make a list of what you want to take and cross it off (that was most of my stress.......what if I forget something?).........yes, the drinks you'll have to get when you get there. I drank a lot of bottled water..........

I also carried my letter that my chiropractor wrote for me just in case TSA gave me any grief, but I've never had to show it.
