Last year I was on Budesonide for 7 months. Around October I had a bone density scan and yesterday I received my results. I am in my sixties and the doctor said I have the bone density of a young adult.
I was a little worried when I had these tests as I have not been eating any dairy for the past nine months and before that I had minimal dairy for a few years. I do not take calcium supplements. Since coming on this site a year ago I have been taking 5000iu of Vitamin D per day and have bone broth everyday. I also supplement with Magnesium oil topically.
This has put my mind at ease because I was a little concerned about the lack of calcium in my diet. I am just going to continue on with what I am currently doing

Linda,
We appreciate the insight. That supports what I firmly believe — that osteopenia and osteoporosis are virtually never due to calcium deficiency. They're always due to a deficiency of vitamin D or magnesium or both.
Thank you for sharing your experience. That's very enlightening information.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I was very relieved that my mom agreed to take the magnesium pills instead of upping the amount od calcium she takes. She was recently dx with osteopenia. She already takes Vit D.
