Stress and MC
I have read that stress can magnitude MC. My full blown symptoms started when my daughter's wedding was approaching. Her behavior towards me and my family was so extremely cruel and hurtful that it destroyed all of our family relationships. I have been seeing a therapist and joined a bipolar support group for those that have a loved one with mental illness. I was told that I cannot have any contact with my daughter until she has a psychiatric evaluation as my health is more important. It is breaking my heart. Has anyone else suffered through this disease with a loved one suffering with a major mental disorder?

Ann,
I have an adopted daughter that just turned 27 (she came to live with us when she was 10 and we adopted her when she was 11). I've seen a side of life with her that no one should have to see. She's had a lot of mental issues. Right at the present, she has cut both my husband and me out of her life. I just had to step back and say, "I know I've done the best that I can do, and there is NOTHING that is worth the risk of my health." It's very difficult to let go, but for your own well-being, you just have to. I have a granddaughter that will be turn 2 in July that doesn't know that she has a grandma and grandpa that love her very much. It's a very difficult thing to do, but you just have to "let go and let God." I turned it over. My health is too important!
