Enterolab testing in New York State?

Post by DB »

Hi, just wondering if anyone from NYS has done this testing. It says on the website that "The states of New York and Maryland do not allow their residents to purchase medical testing directly from a clinical laboratory." Does anyone know if it's possible to do it through a medical practitioner?

Thanks!

Yes, your doctor can order the test kit for you if she or he is willing to do it. Many are not willing because they resent online labs that sell tests direct to patients.

If your doctor won't order a test kit for you, several members here have had friends or relatives across the state line order the test kits for them and then ship the sample back (again, outside of NY State).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I've served as a go between for several people on this forum who live in NY. I live in Vermont. I order the test in your name but my address. It gets shipped to me. I ship it to NY. You ship it back to me and I ship it to Enterolab. The results get posted to your email address which is the one I give them. Let me know if you need my help.

Thanks so much for the offer Jean! My doctor is a bit off the beaten path, so I think that she would likely be willing, and I also work with a P.A. who could probably do it as well, but I will let you know.
