An Opportunity To Increase Public Awareness of MC

Post by tex »

I'm looking for someone who might be interested in doing an interview with a free-lance journalist. In her words:
I'm a freelance journalist and I struggle with microscopic colitis myself. This is why I would like to write the story of a patient that has been diagnosed with microscopic colitis. I want to interview someone and learn how their experience has been living with this condition and tell it to others. I believe it's particularly hard to have a silent disease and most people don't understand or imagine how it's like.
If you might be interested in sharing your story with this journalist please PM or email me (by clicking on the appropriate button at the bottom of this post). I can answer questions you might have about her or her qualifications, but I'd rather do that in a PM or email.

IMO anything we can do to increase public awareness of what it's like to live with this disease has to be a step in the right direction.

Thanks,
Tex

Hi Tex,

This is a great opportunity to raise the awareness of MC. If you don't want to be the person yourself, I take the liberty of suggesting

Erica P-G. She is a good candidate.

If Gabes was situated in the U.S., my suggestion would be her.

Hi Lilja,

Living in the USA isn't necessarily a requirement. It may depend on how she intends to do the interview.

I'm not a good candidate because I have other digestive system issues that have required major abdominal surgery so that I no longer have half my guts. LOL. I thought I would list a few candidates for her, and she could decide who best fits the goals of her article.

thanks Lilja

if being in another country is not an issue (different health system, different culture with eating/meals etc) and my combo of other health issues is not an issue
I am happy to volunteer.

Gabes,

I suppose I need to see if she has any restrictions pertaining to things such as other health issues, or being located on the other side of the world. I'll try to find out.

Thanks,
Tex
