My husband - Day 23

Post by Marcia K »

Hello. My husband ending up being in the hospital for 23 days. We really don't have a diagnosis other than nerve inflammation. While I can't prove it, I am sure it was caused by the flu vaccine. After a few days of walking my dog alone a neighbor asked where he was. When I described his condition my neighbor's eyes got wide and said he's the third person that he has heard of with this nerve issue. Last year one of his co-workers who was given the flu vaccine at work was transported out of the plant by ambulance that same day. My husband is home now but still can't walk without the aid of a walker. We had bars installed at the commode in the 1/2 bath and in the shower. He has to go up and down the stairs on his backside which he only does once a day to get in the shower. He is 57 years old and we don't know what his prognosis is. It is scary to say the least and we are taking one day at a time. Luckily my guts have held out and although I am tired the D has not returned.

Marcia,

I'm very sorry to hear that he's still without a diagnosis and still without relief. I went back and reread your original post (describing his receiving a flu vaccine 4 days earlier). That timing cannot be simply coincidence. I believe he surely qualifies for compensation. I'm puzzled that his doctors were unable to make a diagnosis, but he should qualify for compensation regardless. Have you seen this NPR article from 2015?

Hi, Tex. I was not aware of that, thank you very much! They said that he has arthritis in his neck and pseudo gout, but they could not pinpoint why this all happened at one time. I kept mentioning the flu vaccine and asked about Guillaine Barre Syndrome (sp). When they discharged him they said it will take time for him to get his strength back. He is still on multiple pain medications, including morphine.

Hi Marcia,

This story sounds very similar. My former husband's two good friends both had the same experience after having the flu shot several years ago. I don't know if they received a diagnosis but both of them were sure that the flu vaccine was the cause. They both were discharged from the hospital with a walker and then graduated to a cane. While one of them no longer uses a cane, the other does. It took both of them awhile to recover so please hang in there and tell your husband that he can and will get better. I'm sending positive thoughts for his recovery.

Sorry that your husband is still struggling.

my suggestion would be active B6, B9, B12 - to help the methylation cycle and clear the toxins that were part of the vaccine.
The Thorne Methyl Guard Plus product is perfect product.

The other suggestion is topical magnesium - again to help his body clear the toxins and relax the muscles etc.

Hi Marcia,

I will keep your family in my prayers. I've had nerve inflammation in the past. It was a different situation from your husbands. The nerves took forever to heal but eventually they did. The pain was excruciating. I used a lot of ice during that period of my life. I agree with Diana, please tell your husband he can and will get better.

It sounds like a flu vaccine side effect.

Thanks, everyone. The thoughts and prayers from family and friends have helped us get through this difficult time. His spirits are much better now that he is back at home.

Gabes, thank you for the name of the methyl guard, I will definitely be ordering it. I have topical magnesium that I will gladly share with him.

We have so much homemade chicken noodle soup that friends have dropped off since he is home. It's too bad that I can't enjoy it with him!

Just letting you know I'm following this. I just got over a bout of flu that turned respiratory and I did not get a flu shot thankfully. Doing quite well after 7 days...the immune system has done its job better than I thought it would.

Your husbands story is concerning and there must me a DNA reason he shouldn't get a flu shot it may be worth it to look into that testing if anything for the methylation aspect of it too 😉

My thoughts are with you during this time, love yourself when you can find time too 💕
Hugs

Erica, A neighbor is going to email the diagnosis of his co-worker that I mentioned in my first post. He was off work for a year. From the way he described his co-worker's issues, they are very similar to my husband's. My husband has always gotten a flu shot because he is in the Air National Guard. This is the first time anything like this has happened. It is so scary, that's for sure!
