Overheating during flares

Post by Greengoddess »

Does anyone else have this problem? They are like hot flashes but not. When they happen my skin problems increase and also bladder. It drives me crazy. I do think anxiety can make make them, worse just like hot flashes! Then the next day nothing.

That might be a histamine reaction. I would keep a diary of the foods I eat each meal (and record the time when I eat the meal), and also note whenever I have those symptoms, to see if there is a connection with certain types of food (particularly high-histamine foods).

I don't notice hot flash symptoms, but I do have skin problems (a rash, bumps, or weals), and sometimes bladder urgency, which seem to be associated with too much high histamine food.

I had the overheated rolling waves of heat thing when I was in my flare. Also had skin rash patches. Now that I am out of my flare and caught up on Magnesium and Vit. D. The rashes are slowly going away. The hot flashes have stopped too.

Could also be anxiety, since I noticed them with that too but very seldom. It feels more of the flight or fight syndrome when I have them.

I've experienced that also, when my magnesium deficiency became severe.

Yes, I had this and everyone said it was menopause. It wasn't. The back of my neck and head felt very hot like I couldn't cool down, as if I had heatstroke. It was very unnerving. I don't really experience it anymore.

You and I sound very similar. And when you mention bladder problems, do you mean bladder pain, like IC (interstitial cystitis) which feels like a UTI?

I had that off and on for years prior to MC (I actually have CC) debacle.

Just wondering.

It seemed like when I had too much fiber during or following a flare the heat stroke symptoms would be even worse. I used to have to sleep with a cold pack on my neck/head because I was so uncomfortable.

Those symptoms have not affected me for sometime; my life is pretty much normal even if BMs are non consistently perfect.

There is hope.
