I ordered another bottle from another company and it says: Chelated with TRAACS.
What does this mean and is it safe for us?
Thanks for any help.

It's Albion's proprietary (patented) technology for chelating mineral amino acids (chemically combining minerals with amino acids, so that they are more easily absorbed). The idea behind this technology is that the body is preprogramed to absorb vital amino acids automatically. Therefore by piggybacking (chemically combining by the process of chelation) minerals with amino acids, the body readily absorbs the minerals. Here's their website explanation of how it works with magnesium glycinate:

Note the image on that webpage that shows that 56 % of magnesium is absorbed in the ileum. 11 % is absorbed in the colon. That adds up to 67 %. For many/most MC patients (contrary to what most physicians believe) the highest inflammation levels associated with MC are in the terminal ileum and the ascending colon just below it. This has been verified by published data from many different researchers. So it's obvious why MC dramatically interferes with the absorption of magnesium when it is active. And this also validates the claim that chelated minerals should be more effectively absorbed by MC patients.
Here's a U-tube presentation, if you're a U-tube fan.

Connie,
Yes, it should be safe for us — at least there's no apparent reason why it wouldn't be safe for us.

Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
