While I don't eat any of these things now, I shudder to think how much of it I ate while growing up. Goldfish crackers are probably in half of the diaper bags in America. So sad.

It's worth taking a read at Snopes.com just to get a different opinion...I don't take roundup lightly in my food as I live right smack in the middle of a rural area that uses it all over the place. But I do want to be informed with more than just one websites opinion on the subject...and I have been reading Dr. Mercolas take on this action as well so I know it is a hot subject but I just want anyone to be fully informed first so if it is something we can protest in truth we can do it knowing we have the facts ;-)

I started to post about that article yesterday, but then decided to wait to see if anyone else noticed any problems with it. I didn't want to be the only "bad guy" in the thread. "lol" I do that way too often, as it is. Here are some of the things that I find very worrisome about the Food Babe's article:
Remember back a few years ago when Congress was trying to decide where to set the cutoff point for a gluten-free label? Dr. Fasano argued long and hard that it was totally impractical to even attempt to detect gluten levels at below 20 ppm (that's parts per million, not billion — a ppm is 1,000 times as large as a ppb). So how are the "researchers" getting reliable ppb accuracy on glyphosate levels when Fasano didn't trust gluten test results below 20 ppm? Australia uses 5 ppm, I believe, but that's about the practical limit of technology these days.
Apparently the "researchers" mentioned in the article are not exactly reporting valid scientific data (if they actually exist), judging by the disclaimers below the table in the article. Notice that the disclaimers under the chart point out such things as (in regard to the starred results):
The bottom line is that it appears that the "Food Babe" may have fallen in with a bad crowd. It helps to actually know and understand a bit about science if you're going to write about science.

Did these people (again, if they actually exist) actually spend any time attending school? Or were they too busy making up stories.1. Really? It's most definitely very illegal to apply glyphosate to organic crops of any kind. But then since they're estimating the amounts reported for the test results rather than actually measuring them, I reckon they can say anything they want, since it all appears to be arbitrary anyway.2. even organic farmers are having their crops/our food contaminated

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I just realized that myself................I usually am more aware of things like this and check them out, but this time I didn't............Sorry.............I'll pay more attention in the future!

No problem Jari, there are so many claims about Roundup floating around the Internet that it can be mind-boggling just trying to sort them out. And it doesn't help that Monsanto has a real knack for upsetting almost everyone who has ever heard of them (except maybe shareholders). Monsanto is a company that everyone loves to hate. Even farmers (who are pretty much forced to use Monsanto's products because of their monopoly in many technology areas important to agriculture) hate Monsanto's guts because of their business practices.
And unfortunately there are more than a few bloggers who have discovered that the more sensational and unbelievable an article is written, the more traffic it generates on their website. That makes it mighty tempting for them to embellish the facts a bit.
