Seed butters...

Post by HockeyMom »

So, trying to add more calories into my life...seems like all common nuts for "butters" I react to...(ya, know that pistachio wasn't tested...). I seem to be tolerating sunflower seed butter. Was wondering if anyone has tried pumpkin seed butter and/or tahini (sesame seeds). Have purchased both, just haven't tried them. Haven't made my own pistachio butter though I do have pistachios around that my brother snacks on that I could use I guess...Thoughts??

I tolerated Pistachio nut butter that I ordered off Amazon. It was hard to spread and clumpy though. I liked the taste! I use sunflower seed butter and occasionally Almond Butter. I haven't tried pumpkin seed butter though I tolerate pumpkin and use it in my muffins. :cat: :cat:

I tried pecan butter but too bitter. Still tolerated it though.

I tolerate almond butter in small doses (no more than 2 teaspoons a day). Hope that helps, and I'm interested in hearing what others have experienced as I too am eager to introduce nut butters into my diet.

Cut almonds out of my life in July as they were 2+ and the nut I reacted most to...
