I have no doubt of the importance of taking magnesium. I have been taking 600 mg of elemental magnesium for at least a decade but if you are serious about lowering your triglycerides and reversing your fatty liver don't neglect lowering the carbohydrates in your diet. The articles I referred you to offer a solution to fatty liver so they are nothing to be afraid of. Having a potential solution is always good news even when following the solution is difficult or not what you were hoping to hear. For me, usually, figuring a way out of ill health is positive and worth most sacrifices it may entail.

Thanks Jean.....i have all intentions to start mag again ...I just wanted to see what my RBC test came at first to see where I was and get a plan. I am also very serious about my fatty liver, and your link you sent has very interesting reading. My last triglyceride test was 122 so when 381 came back this time I was taken back a little, especially since I've been not drinking any alcohol....that is usually when I would see a little elevation. So I know the carbs and sugar from food are my problem. Though it will be a struggle for a minute I will cut it way back and hope I can heal my liver and get my tri's and glucose numbers back on track.

Hey Lou Ann,
The RBC Mag test only tells part of the story because red blood cells do not contain mitochondria where a lot of magnesium is needed for almost everything our body does. So it gives you an idea, but many people have re-taken the test after a year of supplementation with a therapeutic dosage of 600 mg a day and their test comes back lower! My theory is the body is utilizing it in places its needed most, and we just don't have a good test available to us. Going by symptoms is the best way. Once you get on a good regime, notice small improvements like better sleep and feeling more relaxed....keep us posted.
