Update to post here....
Going to see a Nutrition Therapist Practitioner that recently came to my area. Will see if she holds any new clues to our digestion woes and if the healing we have all learned on here meets or exceeds what she may have to offer and if perhaps I may be able to give her some insight with gut healing too.
I'm always up to learning something new as long as I use the better judgement I have learned from this site to not let foolery cloud my healing. If I have anything to share I will be back

Time for Update....
Nutritional Therapy has come a long ways (at least that how I am seeing it).
I have been on a learning path for almost 2 years now and this appointment really did give me another layer to my healing.
I am now learning to count my pulse when I try new things by knowing what my baseline pulse is and then holding a new chewed up food in my mouth while taking my pulse for a minute to see if my body is having an initial reaction before I ever swallow the food. If my pulse changes by 6 beats beyond the baseline then I am to spit it out and take note that is not a good choice for me at this time. No one needs a prescription to do this or a Dr. to tell us to do it and it is free so I am game for trying it to see if this is something that can work for me with all kinds of drinks or foods that I partake in.
Due to reflex points on the body (testing for tenderness on those points) and then holding chewed up tablets of the mentioned below supplements in my mouth without swallowing, it was brought out that my digestion (hydrochloric acid) is not up to par and my gallbladder is working a bit harder than it needs to be so I am trying out Gastrazyme for the digestion acids and Beta-TCP to aid the gallbladder. One other item that I am moderately deficient in is Essential Fatty Acids which I will try to incorporate more fish types into my diet and possibly a Krill oil.
I was told that I am doing really well in the Mineral supplementation and my body is responding to that (thank you Elemental Magnesium and VitD3 10,000).
Other than those recommendations and incorporating more Water into my day these could be what helps the plateauing that I have been on since August 2016, and hopefully potential to move away from the Cholestyramine.
I know I'm not completely remembering every thing I just did today with the NTP, but I will say she was kind, thorough, and I was praised for knowing so much about myself and healing as well as I am. Thank you Everyone....because without you and the knowledge at this site I wouldn't be as complete as I am right now.
I will give more update as I learn if the mentioned supplements truly help or not, and how I feel while on this trial.

great update Erica!
over the years via a couple of practitioners i have used the pulse rate method to gauge what are triggers and what my body needs at that point of time.
it is great when we are able to decode the messages from our bodies and make progress
hope the improvements keep coming

This is where I stand almost 2 years after beginning my healing journey....for anyone that wonders what an Nutrition Therapy Practitioner may be able to do for you this is one example of what they can provide to you.
I found it helpful to know where I was and what other help I may need to be considering. I think at any stage of the healing process a baseline can be gotten ding this. Our rural area got lucky that a brand new practice popped up and from what I hear many people are seeking her out. I am not sure that is good or bad considering that means our environment/food/etc way of life is having an effect on many people that is a bit disturbing to me.

the other good things with these types of assessments, doing a follow up in 12 months time and watching the progress!
incidence of AI issues, younger people getting terminal conditions, the prevalence of genetic disorders that didnt exist 40 years ago...
one of the main contributors to the issues is big pharma, followed by low nutritional values in food, eating and lifestyle habits (processed foods, and toxin levels of current day)
I dont see it getting any better any time soon.
at the moment, Big pharma is the equivalent of the tobacco industry in the ?1960's - they knew they were slowly killing people, it took 35 years for that to turn around.
hence why so many people are 'sick'I am not sure that is good or bad considering that means our environment/food/etc way of life is having an effect on many peopl

I'm so excited
I went from 45 ng/ml last Summer 2016 to 83.6 ng/ml as of today!
My intestines are absorbing properly and I must be getting correct amounts of Magnesium too in order for it to be such a good number now.
I feel I need a bit more potassium and perhaps Magnesium since I got a foot cramp at midnight last night...but I can handle upping those a little bit
I can't say I still have the greatest BM's but at least I know my body is responding to supplementation and the 6 months I was on the Cholestyramine it did not remove the VitD3 10,000 iu I was taking all Winter long. I can now back off the 10,000 and take it every other day (since I have quite a bit remaining in the bottle) and know that if I miss it a few days during the Summer when I'm out in the sun I'm not going to really be hurting protocol.
I don't think my VitD has ever been this good in my whole life!

Remember that dehydration (or salt deficiency) can also cause foot cramps. When I was magnesium deficient I had leg cramps. When I have foot cramps, I'm dehydrated.
Congrats on the vitamin D test result.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thank you Tex,
I will take note! It was easy to drink a lot when my head was stuffy an running but now I must not be drinking as much.....sure is hard to get enough into myself...I get so preoccupied

Awesome news Erica!!
the hard work and patience are gifting you with results.
and as we discussed in the other thread what you were going to do for the lead up to pollen season etc, having that good level of Vit D3 will help
I suspect that now your magnesium issues are settled, you wont need as much Vit D3

Ok...since May 18 2015 I have turned my life a complete 180 degrees....
I just want to make a post to document the fact that I am no longer on Allegra antihistamine nor am I taking any Cholestyramine anymore. I do not have gut pain, I am not bloated, I am having 'normal' bowel movements according to how I perceive myself after these last 10 years when MC struck me.
It has been almost 2 years to the day since I started this MC journey and I have to say it has been the longest, loneliest, confusing road I have ever been on in my life!
Since I was one that never did try to help symptoms with medication I can truly say that 'going cold turkey' with diet and sticking to it and learning how to supplement along the way people can get to a new normal within 2 years
I've learned so much, I now know what foods I can deal with, and which ones I better stay away from. It is nice to actually jump in the rig and not go thru a list a mile long in my head to cover all the basis should I not feel 'well'.
I'm loving my life again

loving these updates! congratulations on your hard work and diligence to get to this level
maybe the PP forum tag line may need tweaking, rather than you can get your life back, it could be, how to love life again...
I don't know about others, but I for sure do not want my pre MC life back! things are way way better now...
also thanks for including the post in your success stories area, one newbie has already seen it and been inspired by it to write a reply. I am sure there are many that read it and don't necessarily acknowledge it, but it is helping them in their MC wellness journey...

I have to agree Gabes!
I fit into my clothes much better now, my jeans don't hurt my stomach anymore and I don't feel puffy and bloated. The vitamin supplements I am sure have helped regulate my hormones much better now too.
I wouldn't trade how I am feeling now for pre MC either.
I still get body aches but I am hoping it is due to losing muscle tone and that I can accumulate some of that back soon.
My updates aren't spectacular, but they are in line to my progression and how crazy and jazzed up this whole healing process has been to me.
I am finding routine again, and that has been a relaxing aspect for me.
I just baked successfully about 2 weeks ago and they were a simple banana muffin mix using a duck egg, with pecans....banana hadn't been an every day for me, but I actually have been able to have one muffin a day now for 5-6 days and I'm doing ok with it
I got daring and made some safe enjoylife choc chip cookies last Saturday and they have been ok with me too as long as I don't eat to many I think sugar is our biggest culprit after being away from the majority of it for so long while healing.

I no longer have my Nutritional Therapist as she and her family are moving to the Redwood CA area from the South Eastern Wa State area I am in
I do have better knowledge of my body these day though
Since it is now 2 years into healing, and I have reached a decent point, I now have a question as to how much Protein should still be consumed on a daily basis without getting into the M-Tor predicament I keep reading about in regards to protein and how much should be eaten (normal people diet of course).
I understand we need mountains of protein during our healing, and when we happen chance into a flair down the road, but when are we over doing it?
How much protein sustains daily normal life? I don't want to over tax my liver or kidneys at this point, and it's not like I have to Hunt and Gather my food
Thanks!
