Kidney stones a magnesium deficiency?

Post by Grahm »

Have I read on here that kidney stones are brought on from magnesium deficiency?
My friend has been terribly sick with that and I wanted to double check before saying anything. Thanks!

Hi Connie,

Yes, kidney stones are definitely a symptom of chronic magnesium deficiency. Unfortunately most physicians seem to be unaware of that relationship.

In the fall of 2014, as my other (unrecognized) magnesium deficiency symptoms began to become a serious problem, I passed 2 kidney stones, exactly 3 weeks apart. I had been taking about 200 mg per day so I thought that I was taking plenty magnesium, but obviously I was continuing to lose ground. A few months later my other symptoms became so bad that I finally figured out the problem and doubled/tripled my magnesium intake and that resolved all my symptoms. I haven't had any sign of a kidney stone since increasing my daily magnesium dose.

I hope you can convince your friend that a magnesium deficiency is her problem because it's a lot cheaper (and a lot more effective) than the medical solutions offered.

Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
