flares?
4 days ago drank 250ml of liquid meal and day after peanut butter ( creamy)to try, i knew it has lot of "stuff" in it ,becouse i was soo low on energy, and zhough i would tolerate it good, end up with loose stool, 2-3 a day, not formed, slight pain.
But hey, you'll never know if you dont try.
Today the situation is better, a little bit formed but its good feeling to know that you can control it with certain foods.
Ill continue with my safe foods,
I was wondering, since I lost weight, (currently on stabile weight), to suplemment with some protein powder or something?
Any recommendations?

I always eat real food because when you eat heavily processed foods such as protein powders, you are never getting all of the nutrients that are in real food, in the ratios and in the forms that your body was designed to use. Instead, you are ingesting a bunch of laboratory type derivatives removed from real food that some lab technicians decided would appeal to people who are looking for a quick and easy way to boost their protein intake.
But the problem is that research shows that most people do not receive the benefits claimed by such food supplements because they are not complete foods (some of the proteins and enzymes in real food are missing). And because those products contain only certain select ingredients found in real food, the body doesn't recognize them as real food.
The bottom line is that as long as you can tolerate them without any reactions, protein powders and similar highly processed food products are better than eating nothing, but they are never as good as eating the real food that those nutrients originally came from. And real food is a heck of a lot cheaper based on the nutrients received, because real foods don't have all those middleman processing costs and profits that are added to the cost. If you can find a good, safe, protein powder that works for you, it might make a convenient snack, but there are also real food snacks that can be eaten instead, such as jerky, for example, or hard-boiled eggs (if you don't react to eggs).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
What do you think about rice pankcakes with rice flour egg and water, with prosciutto - homemade, without any unwantend stuff only salt.tex wrote:I always eat real food because when you eat heavily processed foods such as protein powders, you are never getting all of the nutrients that are in real food, in the ratios and in the forms that your body was designed to use. Rice pancakes with prosciutto should be OK if you can tolerate eggs without any problems.
Pentasa is usually slower to work than budesonide, but it has been around for many years, and it works well to reduce inflammation for many people.
If you're feeling better then your digestive system is probably healing.

Hi David,
The problem with protein powders that are sold in the US is that there are a lot of chemicals and ingredients in them that we react to. I think some MCers in the US have used a rice protein powder or a hemp protein powder. Many protein powders have dairy base which is problematic for us.
I'm a "real food" eater. To put on weight I eat more food. It seems to be safest for me.
