I am wondering how to find out how to find a GOOD Gastroenterologist in upstate NY if I need one? In 2 days, I am seeing the one who performed my colonoscopy in mid-Feb. She had mentioned two meds in her letter to me following my diagnosis but advised me to consult with my regular doctor, who I saw a few weeks ago. She (regular doc) agreed with me that if I am feeling well and not experiencing D the way I was last fall, she saw no reason for me to take either of those drugs. (That made me happy.) This appointment was made weeks ago so it is just a follow up -- I don't know if I really need to see her, but it's rather late to cancel as she is in great demand.
I am a little apprehensive about seeing the GI doctor, but lately, I am apprehensive about seeing ANY doctors!!

Hi Always,
Your regular doc is correct — if you have no D or pain symptoms there is no point in taking any medications.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
