Magnesium Blood Work Test
Hi Everyone,
Is there a specific test that would show magnesium deficiency?
Thank you

The RBC (Red Blood Cell) magnesium test is far superior to the serum (regular) magnesium test. But the stated "normal" range is wrong. It should be 6.0–6.5 for a correct normal result.

Due to a surprise ER visit I found out my magnesium blood level is 2 and I had taken 200 mg that morning. I had stopped taking higher dosages because of watery D. Plan to increase it again VERY slowly.
I had gone to a walk-in clinic due to acute shoulder pain and my entire left arm ached. Nothing helped the pain so I decided to go to the walk-in. Because of heart history, they kicked me over to ER. Heart is doing just fine after 5 hours there. LOL They took xrays of my chest and shoulder. I was told I have a lot of arthritis in my shoulder and they also said I have a nodule in my lung. I really hate going for "tests". They always find something new to tell me. LOL
Outcome is CT scan of my chest and visit to orthopedics next week.
Only good thing was I found out my mag level.
