Ken
my learning from the 7 years of being part of this forum, (and also in the last few years that i have been part of forums for other health issues) - 75% of health issues are due to deficiencies in key nutrients, and symptoms of all health issues can be reduced/eliminated by fixing deficiences/imbalances in nutrients

so far as I know, H2 use does NOT cause MC - can you please share the papers where you have seen this?

why will Vit D3 and magnesium help - vit D3 reduces inflammation and promotes healing of the gut, and our cells need magnesium to use the Vit D3 properly
additionally, we do not absorb nutrients from food properly if we are low in Vit D3

this article had some very good suggestions and mentions the why for Magnesium
Magnesium - this is an excellent mineral to calm muscles and other body tissue, which are inflamed and may be tense due to gastritis. Magnesium is required not just by the stomach, but every smooth muscle in the body, in order to function properly
the article also mentions Slippery Elm - slippery elm powder would be a very good option - make sure it is super fine powder (not capsules or tablets)

Also found this study about low Vit D3 and gastritis patients
Vitamin D levels in AIG patients were significantly lower than in patients with nonspecific gastritis or in the general population, supporting the hypothesis that hypovitaminosis D might be a risk factor for the development of autoimmune diseases. The low vitamin D concentration in H. pylori gastritis patients might act as predisposing factor for a more severe Th1-type aggression to the stomach epithelium.
