Rice for breakfast!

Post by Greengoddess »

This might sound very strange but perhaps not to MCers. I cook some of the meat or fish from the evening before and whatever veggies I can find and eat them with the rice. Things have notably improved since. I have more energy for longer too. I started doing this to avoid gluten free bread always.

Not strange at all to me!

I find that what ever sparks my interest in the morning is what I will eat....I don't base time of day on any particular way of eating anymore

That is a typical breakfast for me also, rice and left over meat from the nice before, along with a fruit such as an orange.

breakfast is my main meal of the day, especially on work days, enough carbs (via veges) to provide energy etc and good serve of protein.

mostly it is lamb stew (made on home made bone broth) so it has fats, amino acids etc and my safe veges

even on days that I do pseudo fasting - I will have brunch type meal at 11am, and then second meal mostly protein at about 4pm

Hi, Gabes. I always think of you when I'm at Costco and I'm buying a boneless Australian lamb roast.

I too am someone to eat my leftovers for breakfast or any protein I have in freezer, fish, included, I will never forget when I was travelling on a ferry overnight and got up in the morning in the public eating area they had microwaves for use, ( I don't usually use microwave but travelling , improvise as best I can ) anyway, I warmed up some wonderful soup from the night before I had packed
in a cooler, filled with ice. there was a strange man, watching me,as I sat down with the bowl in front of me about to drink it " he said, you aren't going to drink that soup for your breakfast" I looked sweetly at him and said
"I sure am, it is delicious, yum.... " He was eating a sugary donut and cup of coffee, and then he walked away and just shook his head.. I had an opportunity to point out to him the many dangers of eating a sugar coated donut and the empty calories in it, not to mention the gluten in it. I didn't say anything, .
I continued smiling and enjoyed my soup and had a beautiful day with no issues of bloating or upset stomach from travelling. Some people are just curious but he was quite bold to speak up, good for him, I will never see him again, maybe he went home that next day and thought, why not have soup for breakfast eh! We all know he probably never will Ha!
I look forward to my breakfast each morning to fuel me for the day like Gabes, it gives me such an energy boost and when my stomach is full I don't get bothered by the smells of my" before foods" eaten by other people around me, so I go on my day knowing it will be without
urgent trips to the bathroom that is worth any stares from strangers curious as to why I was having soup for breakfast..ha!
yes, Marcia, Lamb is one of my favorite proteins I eat it quite often now and love that I have no effects from it, that makes the meal even more special, I feel I am listening to my body and doing the best I know to do to honor this gift I have been given, everyday we are learning no matter how old we get, that is amazing and with the internet and this incredible team of you all going on this journey together we will learn more and more of how to protect our health which is so important. Thank you Tex and Gabes and for your awesome research and helping us all understand this complex disease more and more.
Have a wonderful day. Big hugs :pigtail:

So true. I never could eat a donut for breakfast even when I ate donuts. What a way to start the day - major sugar crash!

I can't do sweets in the morning either. Even my Mayo PCP expressed surprise when I told her I usually eat last night's dinner leftovers for breakfast!

I eat 3 slices of sausage for breakfast every morning and a banana. I buy the Jimmy Dean natural at Costco in a 3 pound roll. I slice it up and fry it and freeze it. Was never a sausage fan before, and can't honestly say I am now either, but it works and keeps me full until lunchtime. Food still doesn't appeal to me and I just eat because I have to for fuel and really no other reason! Funny how things change over time.

I did, however, eat chicken and rice for breakfast (for all meals) when I was on my bland restricted diet.
