"Winged Migration"

Post by starfire »

Well, I finally got to see that film today. Excellent!!

Guess what I got to see - Rockhopper Penguins  Also King Penguins (I suspect they come after Rockhopper when we are promoted here on the board) Isn't there 2 more after Rockhopper.....Has to be Emperor.

Anyway the film was really good. I enjoy that type of thing anyway. I'm not really sure which I liked more but I think March of the Penguin's is a bit ahead but not a lot.

Now I have to find the one about the Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill.

I guess you could say that I think birds are perhaps the most amazing creatures. Especially the small delicate ones that are able to endure soooo much - temperature extremes (like Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse) and like the hummingbirds who are so tiny yet fly to South America and back every year. Amazing!!!!

Well, Enough.........

Hey, I'm with you on the birds!

I've seen March of the Penguins but not the other two. Gotta put them on my list.

Hi Shirley,

I loved them all, but I felt so sorry for the penguines. Such a harsh life.

Jaco, a parrot in Salzburg, could not only speak but seemed to understand grammar. Whenever his person left, Jaco would say "God be with you." But when several people were departing, Jaco would change it to "God be with all of you."

Boy, it REALLY is a harsh life for the little guys, and after the first 4 years of their life where they get to play and frolic in the ocean, there doesn't seem to be a lot of pleasure for them. (the Emperor's at least, don't know as much about the other types).
