Hi all. I am new to the "family". I am dealing with LC and with the help of y'all I have been doing the elimination diet.
I am doing the GF, SF and dairy free and have been eating rice, chicken, bone broth and well cooked carrots. I finally tried
adding pork and so far so good! My problem is I am leary of trying to add different foods. I am doing better and feel better
and I don't want to find out something "doesn't work". Any words of advice would be helpful..

I see you joined about 8 days ago, so I assume that's approximately how long you've been on a recovery diet. Don't try any new foods until you've been in stable remission for a few weeks. Then try them one at a time, for three days to see if you have any symptoms. If not, assume that food is OK. If you're like most of us, you're probably about six months too early with trying to add new foods.

I think I would spend the money on the 2 big lab tests at Enterolab. I initially just did the one that tested for gluten/dairy/soy and egg sensitivities...which was very helpful. But I had to do the other panel last year and figured out that all the stuff I assumed was "safe" really wasn't!!! Like chicken, rice, pork, etc/etc/etc.... They are like the A and C panels I think.
I like to think this will save you alot of time and misery. I paid for it out of pocket but I know some folks have gotten it covered by insurance.

if you have stability from the bland low amount of ingredients, I would encourage you to stay with it and not rush into expanding your eating plan.
Stability means you are starting to heal, and this takes time. adding ingredients at this stage can set things back to the starting point again.
Laine (hockeymum) makes good recommendation about the enterolab tests and how to minimise the risk of major set back by confirming safer type foods to add in
if this is not possible due to financial reasons then please, stick with the current eating plan, taking Vit D3 and magnesium to optimise healing and give it a few weeks ( or ideally at least 6-8 weeks) before starting new ingredients
